Strong Year For Tourism Expected

The Sunset Country Travel Association is predicting 2017 will be another strong year for tourism in northwestern Ontario.

Gerry Cariou is the executive director and says 2016 was a good year and doesn’t feel the election of Donald Trump will dampen travel to Canada.

Cariou says while the weak Canadian dollar is one of the things that helps attract visitors from south of the border, it makes it difficult for Sunset Country to market into the U.S. because they have to pay in American dollars.
