City Inquest Resumes

The city inquest into the deaths of seven First Nations youth is back on after a week long break.

The death of 15 year old Jethro Anderson in the fall of 2000 remained the focus today. On the stand were his cousins Debbie Anderson and Nathan Morris along with his girlfriend Starlite Frogg. They talked about the last day they saw Jethro. Each confirmed he had been drinking the night of his disappearance, but there was no agreeement about how much alcohol he consumed.

In an unexpected twist, Morris testified that several years after Jethro died, a man at Sunny’s Bar said to him, “I’m sorry what I did to your cousin”. He says some other men then hushed the person up and took him away.

Also testifying was police Staff Sergeant. Doug West who was at the scene when Jethro’s body was pulled from the Kam River. He says an inspection of the scene found no evidence of foul play. (File photo)
