Calls for a sidewalk on Woodcrest Road from area residents haven’t fallen on deaf ears.
Despite disapproval from city admin, councillors approved construction of a sidewalk between John Street and Hutton Park Drive at their meeting last night.
Councillor Trevor Giertuga says it’s a matter of improving pedestrian safety.
The city’s engineering department has reservations about the project, noting the area isn’t fully developed, and not all lots have sewer and water service. But Giertuga says 37 of the 40 lots are serviced already, with money already in the bank for the long-awaited project. (Photo provided)
