College Readies For Funding Overhaul

Upcoming funding changes won’t change much for Confederation College, according to its Vice President of Finance and Administration.

Michelle Falo says over the next five years, the portion of their funding that’s based on enrollment will be connected to graduates’ outcomes instead.

“The performance metrics would just show further evidence that we are providing, based on these [key performance indicators] and the metric performance, the outcomes that are expected of the college,” she explains.

She adds the college already aims to boost its graduate employment numbers and publishes those figures.

Falo adds they have been working with the province for around a year in preparation, and won’t be required to report their graduate employment rates for another couple of years.
