The province is investing $75,000 in Chippewa Park.
The money will go toward planning to remove the breakwater barrier. The project is meant to improve the water quality and fish habitat by allowing the water to circulate more freely.
It will also include protecting the shoreline from erosion, and work is expected to start next summer.
The funding is part of a $7.47-million investment in projects to improve the health of the Great Lakes.
