Rainbow Crossing Planned For South Core

The south side will get its first Pride crosswalk this summer.

City Council voted to install a rainbow crosswalk at one leg of the intersection of Donald and May Streets outside City Hall.

It’s supposed to be painted in August. This is the third Pride crosswalk the city has committed to, with the other two planned for Bay and Algoma.

The city didn’t specify how much the work would cost, but the previous crosswalks were quoted at $2,800 each. The city is splitting the costs equally with Thunder Pride and North-West Lines.
