UPDATE 10:30: Fire Still Burning In Rosslyn

A large fire has consumed the old Buchanan Northern Hardwoods mill in Rosslyn and continues to burn.

It is located off of Vibert Road at Buckhorn Drive.

Oliver Paipoonge Fire Chief Sean Horan says they arrived on the “significant” fire at nine o’clock last night, and the blaze kept crews busy until six o’clock this morning. He returned to the fire later in the morning and expects it will continue to burn for another “day or two.”

Firefighters called Neebing Fire Department for backup managing the fire last night.

Oliver Paipoonge Fire crews are investigating the cause of the blaze. Nobody was inside the building when they arrived, and nobody was hurt.

The former Buchanan mill in Rosslyn was still smoking as of Saturday afternoon.
