Family Doctor Advises Against Distanced Social Hangouts

Although you may think it is safe to gather with your neighbours on the street while keeping your distance, a local family doctor is advising against it.

Dr. Danielle Eras spoke to Acadia Broadcasting’s John Ongaro and says social media posts showing people gathering outside are touching but still potentially dangerous.

“To just see how social of creatures we really are. I know this is really hard for people and especially with some holidays coming up like Easter it’s going to be challenging. There are other ways of staying connected that don’t expose us potentially,” Eras said.

Dr. Eras recommends you take your hangouts online through technology like Skype or other videoconferencing services.
