Parade Of Lights Ready To Wow Crowds

Local organizations are gearing up for the holiday season. Thunder Bay’s Police Association is busy getting ready for the 2019 Parade of Lights that is scheduled for Saturday, December 7th at 7:00 p.m.

Parade chair Greg Stephenson says children, youth and young adults with special needs in our community received $34, 422.52 last year because of the Parade of Lights. Autism Ontario – Thunder Bay & District Chapter, George Jeffrey Children’s Centre, Special Olympics – Thunder Bay & Thunder Bay Therapeutic Riding Association children are the charities of choice to receive funds from the annual event. As a bonus, the organizations also received greater awareness of their causes.

This year’s fundraising goal is $40,000 and you can donate the night of the parade and online through a GoFundMe account.

Last year, over 100 decorated trucks participated and you are encouraged by organizers to sign up your business or organization for a float this year.

Below you can see the parade route and the new sensory-friendly area.
