Nobody was hurt in a north-side house fire Monday morning.
City firefighters say a call came in at 10:30 from a Crown Street homeowner reporting smoke in her basement.
They quickly got the fire under control and kept the flames from spreading to the rest of the house.
Fire officials note their efforts prevented heavy damage to the home.
Thunder Bay Fire Rescue officials are reminding you to keep anything flammable away from fuel-burning and heating appliances.
