Province To Expand Alcohol Sales

Expect to see more locations to buy alcohol in Ontario.

The province is currently undergoing a review with the aim of increasing alcohol sales in corner stores, big box stores and grocery stores.

Finance Minister Vic Fedeli says they made that commitment during last year’s election.

“We firmly believe this will not only open up the province to more choice, it will lead to competitive prices–and all of this without the need to privatise our valuable government asset.”

Fedeli says they received 33,000 responses to the idea during a recent online consultation.

Fedeli says Ontario has the lowest the number of retail outlets in Canada selling beer and alcohol.
