$11K Donation For Newborn Care

A donation of $10,890 is going to help newborns at the Regional Hospital.

The hospital is getting the money from the Sandra Schmirler Foundation, which raises money for Neonatal Intensive Care Units across the country.

The donation is buying two syringe pumps that the NICU will use to safely and accurately give newborns fluids and medications.

Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation
officials say they look forward to partnering with the foundation, named after curler Sandra Schmirler, next year during the 2022 Scotties. It was originally going to partner with the hospital around the 2021 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, which has been rescheduled for next year.
