Wisconsin Congressional Candidate: Tom Palzewicz

An open seat in Wisconsin’s 5th Congressional District.

Recent history shows that this district has usually voted for the Republicans, including retiring incumbent Jim Sensenbrenner who won nine consecutive congressional votes.

Democratic Candidate Tom Palzewicz and his team feel they have a chance to flip it blue, saying it’s all about the female vote.

“We’re doing everything we can to get out in front of those women, who have husbands that are probably completely pro-Trump supporters and are going to vote straight Republican, but there are a lot of [Wisconsinites] that are unhappy with the direction of this country, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic,” says Palzewicz.

Palzewicz is running for the second time for this seat in Congress. In 2018 he lost to incumbent Jim Sensenbrenner by 87,234 votes.

Two years later his opponent is Scott Fitzgerald: “My opponent, even though it’s an open seat, hasn’t even responded to any requests for debate or to even have a conversation about the issues, so that’s been a challenge. We just keep doing what we can everyday and we realize there are people who care and want to start making a difference.”

Palzewicz says it’s been a great learning experience running for the second time, and the message to voters is that the Democratic Party is a great alternative.

“Our tag line for our campaign this time is Progress over Partisanship, basically lets get going, start looking at the issues and find a way to solve them.”

NOTE: Republican Scott Fitzgerald hasn’t returned calls from Acadia Broadcasting for comment
