Winter Exceeds Expectations

Winter is reminding us it is back.

Environment Canada was predicting roughly 20cms overnight, but meteorologist Jordan Nichols tells us winter did better than that, with about 28cms recorded. “We had reports late last evening around Thunder Bay of around 25cms. In that time between late last evening and this morning, probably a few more centimetres fell.”

He adds this weather system started out west.

“It dropped in southern B.C. and right across the prairies. This is all from the same system. It’s been a good one, and it’s been dumping snow right across the country before its arrival here in Ontario,”

Environment Canada adds a few more cms of blowing snow is expected today, also along the north shore of Lake Superior.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
