We are live! 36 Hours for Your Thunder Bay is on now!

Thunder Bay is about to turn up the volume…literally.

From 6:00 a.m. Monday, May 11 to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, the city will be buzzing with energy, inspiration, and community spirit as 36 Hours for Your Thunder Bay hits the airwaves on 99-9 The Bay and Country 105. This isn’t just another fundraiser. It’s a celebration of what makes Thunder Bay extraordinary: people who show up, lift each other up, and believe in building a stronger future together.

For the first time ever, four powerhouse local charities—George Jeffrey Children’s Foundation, Habitat for Humanity Thunder Bay, Our Kids Count, and Roots Community Food Centre, are joining forces under one united mission. Supported by Acadia Broadcasting and YourThunderBay.ca, this 36‑hour live event is a bold, heart‑forward collaboration that proves what’s possible when passion meets purpose.

A Citywide Movement Begins

Thunder Bay has always been a community that rallies when it matters. But 36 Hours for Your Thunder Bay takes that spirit to a whole new level. Over a day and a half, listeners will hear powerful stories of resilience, growth, and hope, stories of children reaching milestones, families finding stability, young people discovering opportunity, and neighbours helping neighbours.

This event tackles four of the most urgent needs in our community:

  • Healthy child development
  • Strong, supported families
  • Reliable access to nutritious food
  • Safe, affordable housing

And here’s the magic: every donation supports all four causes at once. Every dollar is shared equally, multiplying the impact and reaching thousands of people across Thunder Bay.

This is community giving at its most powerful.

Meet the Changemakers

George Jeffrey Children’s Foundation
A lifeline for children and youth with physical, developmental, and communication challenges. Their work helps young people reach their full potential, and gives families hope when they need it most.

Habitat for Humanity Thunder Bay
Building more than homes, they’re building stability, independence, and brighter futures. Habitat’s impact is generational, strengthening families and neighbourhoods across the city.

Our Kids Count
A warm, welcoming hub for families. Through nutrition programs, parenting support, and community connection, they help families feel seen, supported, and empowered.

Roots Community Food Centre
Reimagining food security through urban agriculture, youth employment, education, and food distribution. Roots nourishes bodies, builds skills, and strengthens community bonds.

Why Your Donation Matters

When you give to 36 Hours for Your Thunder Bay, you’re doing more than donating, you’re investing in a healthier, stronger, more connected community. You’re helping children access care, families put food on the table, parents find stability, and neighbours build safe homes.

This event is a reminder of what Thunder Bay does best: come together.

Whether you give a little, give a lot, or simply help spread the word, your support becomes part of a collective movement that will echo far beyond these 36 hours.
