Environment Canada is anticipating a bit of a roller coaster ride with the temperature over the next few months.
Meteorologist David Phillips is expecting August to drop a bit more than the 26.5 that was July.
“We’re not going to go from sweat to slush, but we think August right now, in central Canada, from southern Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec is showing a little bit cooler than we’d expect to see.”
However, looking to the fall, the meteorologist feels the temperature will be warmer than normal into October.
As for rain, Thunder Bay didn’t get as much last month as it normally does.
David Phillips says about 83mm fell, instead of the usual 89.
“There were some heavy bouts of rain at times, it wasn’t as if it was like the water torture test, where you had huge dumps, or everyday was a rain day.”
“I think so of what was missing in action was those 30 degree temperatures. We didn’t see any in July, and none in June or May. So they’ve been sort of absent.”
