Increased use of Our Kids Count’s services has led them to be in a deficit position.
Executive Director Gladys Berringer tells us they are counting on Ribfest and their poker run to help them out of the negative.
“It’s running around the $20 to $30,000 mark, we are hoping that we can balance that after several charity events. We don’t want to have to cut programs or services.”
Ribfest is coming back at the CLE grounds August 23rd, 24th and 25th.
Meanwhile, the charity is also in bad need of canned goods for area families who use their pantry to feed their children.
Berringer says there’s been a greater demand on their small cupboard and they’ve had to turn people away because they don’t have any food left by the end of the week.
Officials are asking you to bring canned goods to this year’s Ribfest so they can restock their shelves.
