NDP Concerned For Care Home Vaccinations

There are worries about how to get a COVID-19 vaccine to seniors in long-term care.

This after provincial officials said there could be challenges bringing the vaccine to seniors who can’t leave care homes.

The province has identified long-term care home as a priority group to get the first shipment of vaccine doses, but admitted residents may have to go to clinics to get immunized.

Ontario NDP Deputy Leader Sara Singh says families of those seniors have a right to be concerned.

She argues Premier Doug ford should have started planning vaccine distribution earlier, saying the roll-out is too important to get wrong.

Singh is also calling on Ford to come out with a transparent plan for getting long-term care home residents immunized.
