Our Future Shop is becoming a Best Buy.
In an abrupt move by the company this morning, it announced it’s closing 66 locations across Canada effective today. However, another 65 stores are transitioning to Best Buy locations over the next week.
Customers at the Thunder Bay store are currently met with locked doors, but there’s a sign in the window that says it’s merging to become Best Buy, and will reopen by next Saturday, April 4.
There’s no details yet on whether Future Shop employees will be rehired to work at Best Buy. About 1,500 employees country wide are affected by the closure. (Staff photo)
