Unifor is claiming they’ve settled the strike at Bombardier.
In a statement to the media they say they’ve reached an agreement that will be presented for ratification Friday morning at the Community Auditorium.
Unifor Spokesperson Dominic Pasqualino is quoted as saying “These workers have stood up for good jobs in their community. Our fight against the employer’s concessions has shown the resolve of the membership to fight for fairness.”
Details of the new collective agreement will be presented to the membership for ratification, with a full discussion and debate to be held at that time.
900 workers have been on strike for eight weeks.
Bombardier Spokesperson Stephanie Ash says she hopes the union accepts the deal and feels it is a good contract. (File photo)
