Traffic Stop Leads To Chase & Arrest

City police have one man in custody after a north side traffic stop turned into a foot chase.

They say they stopped the driver after an officer noticed a possible stolen vehicle while on patrol in the area of Ambrose and Algoma Streets just before 8 o’clock this morning.

The officer managed to get the driver to stop, but they say the man got out of the vehicle and took off.

The officer followed in pursuit and caught up with the suspect a short distance away on Secord Street, where the arrest was made.

Police say the man had a prohibited weapon at the time of the incident.

A 25-year-old Windsor area man, whom police say was on probation, is expected to appear in court tomorrow.
