The big winner of the City’s Arts and Heritage Awards is ThunderCon.
City Spokesperson Ash Young says the pop culture event has grown in its third year.
He says up to 4,500 people attended last year.
ThunderCon took home the Event of the Year award last night, and their Chair Heather Dickson won the achievement award for Volunteer of the Year.
In the music category, the Thunder Bay Community Band was honoured.
“They put in a lot of work over the past year,” Young says.
