The Lakehead Public School Board is giving serious consideration to flying the Fort William First Nation flag at all its 28 schools.
Board Spokesperson Sherri-Lynne Pharand indicates it’s still in the discussion stages, and officials aren’t sure whether to make the blanket recommendation or not.
“Part of the discussion would be to consider whether [the flag] would be at the Board office, or if it would be at each of the schools,” Pharand explains.
She tells us the suggestions comes from the board’s Aboriginal Education Advisory Committee.
Pharand isn’t sure how long it will take before it goe to trustees for a vote. (File Photo)
