Thunder Bay’s health sciences centre welcomes new board of directors

The Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre has officially welcomed its new board of directors for 2025-2026.

Patricia Lang, Christine Bates, Matt Simeoni, Charles Campbell, Gord Wickham, Dr. Andrew Dean, Joy Wakefield, James Peotto, Kimberly Ferris, and Michael Pelletier are continuing their terms on the board.

Joining the Board are new members Matthew Aiken and Marla Morrison.

The new members were announced at the hospital’s annual meeting, which was held last Thursday.

Douglas Judson is also leaving the board as his two terms have come to an end.

Jesse Fiddler was appointed to a two-year term as the new Community Member on the Resource Planning Committee.

The following individuals are also board members by default due to their position at the hospital:

  • Rhonda Crocker Ellacott, President and CEO
  • Adam Vinet, Chief Nursing Executive
  • Bradley Jacobson, Chief of Staff
  • Michael Green, Dean, President and CEO, NOSM University
  • Armour Boake, President, Professional Staff Association

At the Inaugural meeting of the board of directors, held immediately following the Annual Meeting, the officers of the corporation were elected, including:

  • Chair – Patricia Lang
  • First Vice Chair – Christine Bates
  • Second Vice Chair – Matt Simeoni
  • Board Treasurer – Charles Campbell

Joy Wakefield was also elected as Chair of the Patient Safety and Quality of Care Committee, and Kimberly Ferris was elected as Chair of the Human Resources Committee.
