Thunder Bay Welcomes Aboriginal Students

It’ll be a big welcome this afternoon at Marina Park for Aboriginal students from the region attending college and university.
Cynthia Wesley-Equimaux of Lakehead University says it’s an orientation that allows faculty and students to get to know one another in an outdoor setting.
“This is a movement for us to better integrate our students, especially the Aboriginal ones, into the city of Thunder Bay, and make it a welcoming environment for everyone,” Wesley-Equimaux says.
“Whether its faculty or instructors or students or even high school students, we’re going to try to bring them all in one place, to create a network of learning.”
The events get underway at 1:15 p.m. (File photo)
