Thunder Bay Regional With No COVID-19 Patients

The Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre has no positive COVID-19 patients.

The news Thursday comes as the facility moved their Internal Pandemic Response Level from Yellow (Protect) to Green (Recover, Prevent).

Director of Cardiovascular Sciences Meaghan Sharp says the community is becoming more comfortable coming to the Health Science Centre.

“We are seeing more patients access the hospital again, because I think they were very fearful especially at the beginning of the pandemic, worried about contracting COVID, rather than looking out for themselves,” added Sharp.

It is still being stressed that safety is the priority, as variants can change the situation quickly.

The hospital’s current occupancy is around 81 per cent.
