Thunder Bay Bluesfest FAQ

 

Q: What time do the gates open?
A: The Gate opens at 3:30 pm on Friday, July 5, and at 12:00 noon on both Saturday, July 6, and Sunday, July 7. The gate closes at 9:30 pm each night.

Q: Will the lineup go through the Marina Park pedestrian overpass?
A: Entry to the park this year will be through the Marina Park pedestrian overpass. As the lineup gets longer, it will run through the overpass if necessary.

Q: I have mobility issues, am I able to get into the park through the Camelot street entrance?
A: Yes, if you have mobility issues you’re able to use the Camelot street entrance. For everyone else this is an exit only gate and you’re to use the pedestrian overpass to enter.

Q: Is there Handicapped parking?
A: Handicapped parking on Marina Park site; limited spaces available, on a first come, first served basis, and only with a valid City of Thunder Bay handicap parking pass.

Q: Does my Bluesfest ticket give me free access to transit?
A: Yes, you can use your valid Bluesfest ticket to use city transportation from anywhere in Thunder Bay.

Q: Can I park onsite?
A: No regular parking onsite. Free parking at the Heart of the Harbour Parkade from 6:00 pm Friday and 4:00 pm Saturday and Sunday. You can also park at the Auditorium for free and take Thunder Bay transit to the park.

Q: Is there free parking at the auditorium?
A: Yes. You can park at the auditorium and then there’ll be a shuttle that runs directly from there to the Bluesfest grounds. You will then get off at the Waterfront Terminal and make your way to the pedestrian overpass entrance.

Q: Do we leave our lawn chairs set up every night or do we take them home and bring them back every day?
A: Take your lawn chairs home every night, otherwise someone’s getting free lawn chairs.

Q: Can we bring food into the festival?
A: No food is permitted to be brought into the festival grounds. There will be plenty of food vendors to serve you on site. If you need cash there will be ATM’s on site. You can bring an empty water bottle for the water station though.

Q: Can we bring a water bottle onto the grounds?
A:Yes, you can bring an empty water bottle to use at the water stations.

Q: Will there be VIP parking?
A: No. Your valid Bluesfest ticket will get you free busing from anywhere in Thunder Bay. You can also park at the Auditorium and use the shuttle running from there directly to the grounds.

Q: How many seats are in the VIP section?
A: The VIP section is larger than ever before at this year’s Bluesfest. If you’re looking to score a good spot with your chair, get there early!

Q: Can I bring my dog on the festival grounds?
A: No, pets are not permitted on site.

Q: Can I bring my umbrella?
A: Yes. Umbrellas, bags, and lawn chairs are permitted on site but will be subject to a security search.

Q: Can I bring my selfie stick?
A: No, selfie sticks are not allowed on site.
