They know what love is…

Back in the summer, 99-9 The Bay was contacted by the management of legendary rock band Foreigner to give them a hand. With a stop in Thunder Bay on their latest Canadian tour, the band regularly invites local singers to help them out on stage. After a call on-air for local schools to take part, St. Thomas Aquinas Elementary School was selected to join the band on stage for one of their biggest hits, “I Wanna Know What Love Is”.

A special night for these students, many of which had never been to a good old fashion rock and roll show. Foreigner did not disappoint. Hit after hit the band put on an amazing show with an incredible light show with the auditorium crowd on their feet. After going through almost all of their hits and ending with the classic Jukebox Hero, the band left the stage to be called back out for the encore. It was with that the students from St. Thomas had their moment. Check out the video below.

Leader singer Luis Maldonado added a great piece at the end of the song talking about the importance of music in our schools and keeping it alive, a perfect ending to the song.

Our thanks to Foreigner and their entire team who were so gracious on stage and off, giving these students a once in a lifetime experience with meaning.

These kids know what love is.
