Public high school teachers in Thunder Bay and the rest of the province are holding a one day strike on Wednesday.
It is part of their bargaining tactic to reach a contract settlement with the Ford government.
Currently the teachers are holding information pickets and holding back on some administrative duties.
The Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation says the strike will be averted if a tentative agreement can be reached in negotiations before then.
In response, Education Minister Stephen Lecce issued an a news release saying “strikes hurt kids” and that the government has made major moves during negotiations “that have not been matched or reciprocated by the teachers’ unions.”
