Suspect Grabs For Police Gun During Arrest

A city police officer almost had his gun taken by a person being arrested.

Police say it happened Monday afternoon at a residence on East Arthur Street near Vickers Park.

Uniformed officers were trying to arrest a man who was resisting and during the struggle the accused person grabbed the pistol grip of an officer’s gun. However, quick thinking by the officer prevented the suspect from taking it out of the holster.

Eventually the 25 year old man was arrested and charged.
