Spike In COVID-19 Cases Provincially

The latest COVID-19 numbers in Ontario show the highest increase in cases in over two weeks.

There are 460 new confirmed cases as of this morning.

That comes as Premier Doug Ford urges people not to gather in large groups like he is seeing in some Toronto parks.

“We just can’t have that right now, that’s too many people, too close, and it might not even be about the young people. They can go home and give it to their parents or their grandparents, because there’s still a deadly virus amongst us,” Ford warns.

The province is planning to ramp up testing for the coronavirus, after not meeting its daily testing goals in recent weeks.

Ford encourages Ontarians to visit an assessment centre to be tested, even if you don’t have symptoms.
