Six wildfires burning in Northwestern Ontario, two out of control

In a wildfire update from northwestern Ontario, six fires are currently burning across the region, according to the Forest Fire Info Map.

Of those, two are not under control, one is being held, and three are under observation.

Crews say one out-of-control fire near Dryden has grown to about 14,100 hectares.

They’re warning residents in the area to expect smoke in their communities.

No new fires had been confirmed in the northwest as of early evening on June 7.
