Honouring Sister City Relationship With Gifu City

A virtual Peace Bell Ceremony to celebrate Thunder Bay’s strong relationship with sister city Gifu City, Japan.

The ceremony starts at 11:30 a.m. Friday at city hall and will also honour those lost in the bombing of Gifu City on July 9, 1945.

Mayor Bill Mauro will be in attendance along with Fort William First Nation Chief Peter Collins, and Chair of the Sister Cities Advisory Committee Matthew Villella.

The ceremony is not in person this year because of the pandemic so if you want to catch the event you can do so through the City of Thunder Bay’s Facebook page.

In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
