A job fair is taking place today at the West Thunder Community Centre for those who want to find work on a ship.
The Seafarers Training Institute will be holding their fair from 4 until 7 at the West Thunder Community Centre.
The organization says 1 in 5 existing seafarers are set to retire within the next five years, and the industry is looking to recruit and train more than 300 people for Canada’s growing merchant marine industry.
