Business Community Wants Answers For Lockdown

Harsh criticism from a local Salon owner when it comes to the current COVID-19 lockdown.

The founder of Serenity Salon and Wellness, Tony Muia, is more confused than angry as to why businesses like his aren’t able to stay open.

“We’ve received nothing from our local government, the provincial government or even the Minister of Health,” Muia says. “We don’t know whether we’re coming or going and, as far as we’re concerned, there’s absolutely no evidence that supports a lockdown of our businesses.”

Muia explains they looked closer at the case numbers between the dates of January 9th and February 16th.

“Do you know there were a total of 573 positive cases within the district?” Muia states. “We were all closed at that time! How are these numbers substantiating a lockdown that we’re encountering at this point?”

The business owner stresses they’re not mad, they just want answers to substantiate the lockdown.
