RFDA Backs Up Hunger Count Report

Food bank use in Canada is on the rise, and that’s not surprising to the head of the Regional Food Distribution Association.

In March of this year, over 800-thousand people received food from a food bank in Canada that’s up 1.3 percent from the same time in 2015.

Executive Director Volker Kromm says their food banks are having a hard time keeping their shelves stocked because they too have seen plenty of new faces.

The Hunger Count 2016 report from Food Banks Canada also says that more children are using food bank services than in years before.
