Ontario’s registered organ donors continue to climb.
Trillium Gift of Life President Ronnie Gavsie says they’re proud of the rural and remote communities who have registered donors.
According to the website Be A Donor, Thunder Bay was ranked 30 out of 170 communities in the province for organ donation.
Thunder Bay has almost 55,000 registered donors with a donor registration rate of 51%.
Provincially, the number of donors increased 27 percent in the first three months of the year while the number of transplants was up 31 percent.
