Students in the public and English Catholic school system in Thunder Bay will be getting another day off.
That’s because the Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation has called for a one day strike at the Lakehead Public School Board on Tuesday, February 4th.
As a result, the public school board says it will be closing all high school and elementary schools that day.
In the English Catholic system, the teachers have already given notice of strike action on Tuesday but there are also staff who are members of the OSSTF as well.
For public elementary school students that means, unless there is a settlement between the Ford government and the Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario, they will have Wednesday and Thursday off next week as well.
