Winter storm warning is in effect for Thunder Bay, with what Environment Canada is calling the first significant snowstorm of the year.
A Colorado low will head towards the Great Lakes tonight and linger near Lake Superior on Tuesday. Snow in advance of the low will spread across Northwestern Ontario today and became rather heavy at times tonight into Tuesday along with strong wind.
Total accumulations of 20 to locally 30 centimetres are likely before it tapers off Tuesday night.
Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve.
Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.
