Prepare For Up To 25cms Of Snow

More snow is expected to make its way to Thunder Bay over the weekend.

Environment Canada meteorologist Sherry Williams is giving credit to the southern United States for a system starting Sunday.

“There is quite a big low coming up from the Texas, Colorado area. So it’s bringing with it a lot of moisture. Thunder Bay is going to be on the cold side, so there’s going to be lots of snow.”

The Environment Canada meteorologist adds we can expect up to, and possibly exceeding, 25cms into Monday.

She adds this weather will stretch all the way from Dryden and further east.

“Towards the Ottawa area, they’re looking at possibility of freezing rain and snow, and then for Toronto and Windsor area, they’re looking at rain. This system is basically going to eat all of Ontario.”

The temperature through it all will remain slightly above normal, averaging -3 to -4.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
