City police report they had a relatively quiet March compared to the same month last year.
They report there were almost 4,100 calls in March which represents a 15 percent drop from March 2019.
As well there were just over 200 motor vehicle collisions last month a sharp drop from the 335 the same time last year.
Domestic violence calls have remained steady this year however with police reporting no real difference from month to month.
While the reductions started with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, police note “it is difficult to predict a future trend as the community adapts to further restrictions on gatherings, business closures, and activities.”
