Police Complying With Street Checks Legislation

It appears Thunder Bay Police are following the rules when it comes to conducting street checks.

A report coming before their board shows that the service is confident they’ve complied with new legislation that prohibits police from randomly stopping people to gather information.

Officials say there were no documented complaints of that behaviour in 2017.

The legislation came fully into effect at the begining of 2017. (File photo)
