Ontario’s police watch dog is aware of reports of an incident involving a video showing a police officer slapping a person on a gurney.
In a statement to our newsroom, the Office of the Independent Police Review Director says they are aware of the incident but haven’t received a complaint about it.
The board wouldn’t reveal if this incident will be part of a review of Thunder Bay police on missing person and death investigations involving Indigenous people.
They say a date for that review’s release will be announced shortly.
