Pikangikum Looking At Own Police Force

Its been almost two weeks since provincial police were booted from Pikangikum First Nation, and not much has changed.

Chief Dean Owen says they are looking at their own police service and community health care system.

He says it’s clear the two systems are connected and they want to move as quickly as possible.

While that has happened, the community has brought in nurses and other health care professionals for the interim.

CEO of the Independant First Nations Alliance, Matthew Hoppe says with no solution to the situation in sight, any and all options are being looked at.
