A historic day for Pikangikum First Nation.
They are celebrating the official connection to the Ontario power grid via the Watay Power line project.
It ends their dependency on diesel generators for power.
The power line project is led by 22 First Nations communities and Pikangikum is one of 17 communities in the North to be connected to the grid.
