A program run through the PARO Centre for Women’s Enterprise will continue to offer loans and grants for socially conscious business proposals.
Program Manager Melissa Cook tells us it’s been a great success by helping 10 business ideas get up and running since June of last year.
She explains that’s been with the help of $58,000 in loans and $48,000 in grants calling it “pretty significant.”
Cook believes the initiative has been productive and is well worth being funding through taxpayer dollars adding, the social component of the program is what makes it a success.
The program is able to run because of funding from the provincial government which has recently been renewed.
