A frequent shortage of ambulances is forcing officials at Superior North EMS to take action.
Starting today, there will be one extra ambulance on the road.
Spokesperson Don Stokes explains it will be on the road from eleven o’clock in the morning to eleven o’clock in the evening, which he points out is the busiest time for paramedics.
He says it’s to help them with what’s known as a Code Black, “Which means we literally run out of ambulances within the city,” Stokes tells us, “It varies any time from five seconds, to hours, depending on how busy it gets.”
The EMS official says the city is allowing the extra ambulance for one year.
