The OPP are still searching for the driver of a blue Hyundai SUV that fled the scene of a RIDE spot check late Saturday afternoon.
Police were conducting a ride check off of Highway 590 west of Kakabeka Falls, when they detected the smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle and were in the process of arresting the driver when he drove away from the side of the road. Police pursued the vehicle, but the driver got away.
The vehicle also had camouflage seat covers and Ontario licence plates.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the driver is being asked to contact the OPP or Crime Stoppers.
