The numbers are in for the OPP’s Festive RIDE program.
In the Northwest Region Sergeant Shelley Garr says it was a disappointing season because there was little change from the year previous. She says this holiday period saw 53 people who were charged with being either impaired or refusing to provide a breath sample compared to 43 the year before.
The number of suspensions decreased this season with 14, a drop from 21 last year. Garr says although some numbers are down a bit, it’s still higher than police would like to see.
