Ontario is participating in a task force that will look at reducing the use of diesel fuel as a means of generating electricity in remote communities.
Manitoba, Quebec, Newfoundland and Labrador, The Northwest Territories and the Yukon also also participating.
There are nearly 300 communities in Canada, mostly First Nations, now relying on diesel generation for electricity.
